How to prepare for Passover

The commemoration and veneration of the Passover is an essential festival celebrated as a past of the Jewish faith. It is a time that requires quite a lot of preparation to ensure that it goes smoothly and that all the rituals and parts of the passover are observed. What do you need to have in place to make sure that the Passover goes as it should do.

Firstly, you will need to have the most important part of the celeration; these are the Seder Plates. There are some excellent Seder plates available from //cazenovejudaica.com/uk/seder-plate. Certain foods are an essential part of the commemoration of the passover and the Seder plate is where that is placed. Lamb, Parsley, Potatoes, horseradish, an Egg, a nut and fruit paste and salted water all make up a good Seder plate.

Each food item represents a way of creating a feeling in the people attending the passover. Some are meant to create the feeling of bitterness that the Jewish people have felt in the past. A large table, kosher wine from Israel, glasses and table settings are needed for everyone. The Passover is a very communal meal, much like what the ancient Israelites had the night the seventh plague was visited on Egypt. Of all the Jewish celebrations this is designed to be about community and the youth asking questions as to why they are here and what the ceremony is all about. This is done so that they can understand what it is to be Jewish and of the old faith.
