Time for some fluid power

One of the most powerful lifting mechanisms in the world today is the use of hydraulic pressure. Whilst fluids themselves are not a high density material, like say concrete or even some plastics, what they do have is the fluidity to exert pressure on mass to move something. How the hydraulics work is via a combination of valve, pumps and motors that can shift the thickish hydraulic liquid in vast quantities so that equipment can move. This Fluid Power applicationĀ  is not a simple task. It requires huge amounts of work that can only be completed if you use the services and products provided by dana-sac.co.uk/fluid-power/.

One the best examples of the use of fluid power is that of the lifting arm of a digger. Given the substances that these vehicles have to deal with, the power generally needs to be enormous and focused. One of the main concerns is that if the weight to be lifted is too much it will cause the digger to topple over which can be a cause of major injury.

The digger firstly anchors itself to the ground with hydraulic bases that extend out of the bottom of the unit. Fluid fills in at one end and this forces the stands out. They then hold the vehicle to the ground. The other element is the lifting arm itself. You can see this flexing its muscle along the pole arm. Again, fluid is added or removed to make the pressure increase or release at one end or the other. This flexes the digger bucket or whatever tool has been added at the time.
