Places to Live in Cheltenham

Cheltenham is often high up on the lists of places in the UK where people want to live. There are many reasons for this, but if you are considering a move to Cheltenham, it is a good idea to consider renting there for a while to get to know the area and get a feel for it.

Benhall – The most prominent feature of Benhall is of course the large doughnut building which is the security centre for the Government – GCHQ. It might be that you are going to be working in the building, or you might want to live in a place that has convenient transport links, and Benhall is popular for both of those reasons. Within Cheltenham and close to the town centre, but still with easy access onto the M5 and to Gloucester.

Swindon Village – If you prefer the quieter life, then Swindon village might be for you. With a regular bus service that runs to the town centre, which takes around 15 minutes, it is still convenient, but further away from the busier areas of Cheltenham. Swindon village is quiet and peaceful, and for those with children the primary school is in high demand.

Prestbury – Prestbury is probably most famous for Prestbury park, the home of the gold cup. However, if you like walking, then with Cleeve hill on your doorstep Prestbury is a great place to be for that reason too. The character of the area remains, with its old, thatched roof buildings built from Cotswold stone.

Bishops Cleeve – A village that is just three miles out of Cheltenham, you get the best of both worlds in Bishops Cleeve. There are also plenty of local shops in the area, so you don’t have to go into town, with a pharmacy, places to eat and a hairdresser all within the area.
